Fine lines and wrinkles

As you age, your skin’s collagen and elastin break down faster than your body can rebuild them. The slowed remodeling of these skin-tightening proteins causes your skin to thin, droop and lose elasticity-which leads to wrinkles, furrows and fine lines. These are the telltale sign of aged skin.

Age spots, sunspots, and freckles

Age spots (also known as sunspots or liver spots) are flat, uneven dark patches on the face, neck, chest, arms and hands. They typically occur on areas of the body that are commonly exposed to sunlight. Age spots are harmless but can make you look and feel older than you really are. Freckles are flat tanned circular spots which can occur almost anywhere on the skin but also tend to present on sun-exposed areas.

Pigmented spots and birth marks

Hyperpigmentation of the skin results from a deposit of melanin by melanocytes, which causes a spot of darkened skin. They can be caused by injury, inflammation, sun exposure or can be present at birth. These spots contribute to an uneven skin tone.

This condition appears as patchy brown, tan, or blue-gray discoloration. It can appear on the upper cheeks, upper lip, forehead and chin of women 20-50 years of age. It is believed to be caused by sun expose and/or hormonal changes. Like many other pigmented skin lesions, melasma is not dangerous but mainly bothersome, particularly when the lesions occur on the face.

Our solution: Fractional laser resurfacing, hydroquinone

Dull complexion, rough skin

Your skin represents your inner state of health. There are various factors that can cause your skin to lose its glow, appearing dull and rough. These include exposure to the sun and to pollutants. Our lifestyles also play a big factor with stress, fatigue, cigarette smoke exposure, alcohol intake and diet taking a big toll on our skin over the years.

Cellulite and Unwanted Fat

As we age, our metabolism slows, increasing the likelihood of developing stubborn and unsightly fat deposits. Cellulite is a common condition in which these underlying fat deposits have a dimpled or lumpy appearance. It is most noticeable on the buttock and thighs.

Loss of volume, sagging skin

Sagging skin is a problem that all of us face as we get older. As we age, the gradual decrease in our skin’s collagen and elastin causes it to sag. This can make us look and feel tired and old. For some, the lack of volume is genetic: we may be born with thinner lips then we hoped for or desire better defined cheek bones then the ones that run in our family.

Our solution: Dermal fillers, fractional skin resurfacing

Enlarged pores

Large pores are an issue for many people. They are usually caused by a genetic predisposition and increasing age. Unfortunately, large pores have a tendency to get clogged with dirt, oil and bacteria, making them even more visible. While eliminating pores is not possible, reducing their size is.
